Carly Marchment
ArtistCarly Marchment is a disabled Australian artist based in Crescent Head, NSW, whose painting and drawing practice explores the intersections of body, place, identity and lived experience. Living with FSHD Muscular Dystrophy, she creates autobiographical figurative works that reflect on vulnerability, resilience, accessibility and belonging. Awarded a full scholarship to complete a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Fine Art), Marchment has exhibited widely across regional New South Wales and undertook a 2024 residency at Bundanon in partnership with Accessible Arts. Through deeply personal works, she invites viewers to consider relationships between landscape, memory, disability and the evolving experience of self.

My autobiographical practice explores living with FSHD Muscular Dystrophy, examining body, identity, environment and belonging while transforming changing physical capacity into opportunities for experimentation, connection and creative expression.
