About their work
Ella Doyle’s artwork, Teresa the Tasmanian Tiger, brings together animation, storytelling, popular culture and natural history to reimagine the Thylacine as a living presence in contemporary imagination. Through Teresa, Ella’s message of ‘I Believe’ stands firm and invites audiences to look at extinction, misunderstood histories and the power of imagination. Ella’s practice is also shaped by her love of music and animals. She has created portraits of music icons including Ringo Starr, while her deep affection for animals continues to inspire her characters, stories and artworks.
