Building communities

Community building and partnerships are at the heart of ADNA’s work.

There are many ways to get involved with ADNA:

Together, we can build a more connected and influential arts and disability sector. Every conversation, story and idea helps strengthen our collective voice.

Connect with the community

ADNA’s interactive map allows you to connect with d/Deaf and disabled artists, artsworkers, screen practitioners, organisations and allies from across the country.

Are you a creative practitioner, organisation, access consultant, trainer or ally working to make the creative industries accessible for the artists we work with? Join our community.

We use the word ‘creative’ to describe artists, artsworkers, filmmakers, performers, writers, musicians, designers, freelancers, strategists, economists and entrepreneurs. If you identify as a d/Deaf or disabled creative please add yourself to the map!

The map below is an interactive visual map. If you are using a screen reader, a full text list of every artist and organisation, with their details, is available in the directory on this page.

ADNA acknowledges the lived and living experience of people with disability and their family members, carers and supporters.

We recognise the huge contribution people with lived and living experience make to ADNA's work, disability advocacy, and arts and culture in general.

ADNA uses ‘person-first language,’ emphasising the person, not the disability. As a disability-led organisation, we also embrace ‘identity-first’ language, acknowledging disability as identity.

ADNA acknowledges the many Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia. We honour their Elders past and present. We cherish the richness of First Nations peoples' artistic and cultural expressions.
